Ben Ari was a member of the Kach political party and a follower of Meir Kahane. Kahanism went beyond even religious Zionism to the point of professing Jewish supremacism.  Kahane was elected to the Knesset but had to give his speeches to an empty chamber; that should tell you how bad he was.  Kach was eventually banned by Israel for being not only racist but undemocratic.

These people believe that God gave the "land of Israel" (which in some definitions includes the country of Jordan!) to the Jews alone ... as in no-one else can live there, not even Hagee's nice white Christians.  They deny that most Jews are actually Jewish.  They believe that the State of Israel's secular law code should be replaced with halacha or Jewish religious law.  They believe that democracy is unbiblical and that Israel's republican government should be replaced with either a revived Sanhedrin (a religious Supreme Court) and/or an absolute monarchy.

They're intimately connected with the settler movement and advocate the dispossession and ethnic cleansing (by violence if necessary) of the Palestinians. Even the Kach party's name was borrowed from the motto of the Irgun, an infamously violent Jewish organization that predated the founding of Israel and also professed a similarly militant (if secular) and supremacist Jewish nationalism.

Never attribute to stupidity what can be adequately explained by malice; stupid people couldn't hurt us so effectively.

Yes, we believe that the Land of Israel was given to us. But our tradition also teaches that anyone who renounces idol worship and agrees to obey the law has the right to live in the Land of Israel. Kach supporters pick and choose what part of Judaism they follow.
