Much has been made of the gay lifestyle and how the black community has shunned it.  A great many blacks are christians and, as such, are influenced by their biblical teachings from the pulpit.

    This isn't racial...it is factual.

It's an orientation and one many black people share (Latinos and Asians and others too.)

really ignorant, but perhaps what you are trying to say is that some black churches, like churches of every stripe or congregation can be frightened of people who are gay and feel threatened by it.

I learned long ago when watching a documentary on pbs about a solely male population of little birds that lived along a cliff were homosexual.

I then realized that it's the mmost natural thing in the world.
It's part of who we are.
You may not feel it's part of who you are. That's fine. But as Woody Allen has said in his films, sex is very mysterious and cannot be fathomed.

What I was trying to say in the comment you responded to, but I didn't say it very well was:
      re:

"the strategic goal is to drive a wedge between gays and blacks"
THAT IS SO STUPID because some people who are gay also happen to be black and some people who are black happen to be gay and it is proof of how pitifully shallow the so-called strategy to drive a wedge between one aspect of a person and another aspect of a person, neither of which define that person.

Sorry, but I also don't think it's relevant to talk about a "gay lifestyle".
A lifestyle is for example whether one enjoys cocktail parties or doesn't enjoy them.

we all are who we are and do the best we can at the moment.
most of us don't have a clue who their inner person is, I think - myself included.
we are frightened and confused and struggling much of the time.
I think the only thing one can aspire to is kindness, which is very rare, tragically............
