    Provide you with two choices - neither of which solve the problem, and let you twist in the wind trying to work your way out with no real choice.

    It's a means of controlling people - when the choices presented are both unrealistic or untenable, people tend to become confused or just give up.

    As for Dick Cheney, it really is disgusting that a man who spent virtually his entire career as a cog in the very government that his party despises - and whose value in the brief private sector job he held as CEO of Haliburton was based solely on his government contacts - is able to afford the expensive privilege of a second heart because of the wealth earned from the public sector.
