    They did so in rather dramatic fashion, if you remember: the Abu Ghraib photos, the stories leaking about the black sites and the waterboarding...

    I suppose you can ask "but what if there's a coverup?" about anything, but one thing we should remember from Iraq is that torture does not stay a secret.  Obama has been President for 3+ years now, and all of the evidence suggests that the policy of using "enhanced interrogation" has been ended, and the evidence to the contrary is nonexistent.

      I am willing to give a little on the torture issue (although I still have questions about Somalia), but only because I am already plenty pissed about the drone strikes, justifying the killing of US citizens, and plenty of other crap right now. I still feel that not prosecuting anyone for these crimes, regardless of who's administration they happened under, is in and of itself a pretty fucking horrible thing. My fear, ever the cynic, is that they just got better at hiding it.

      Just because we don't have photos of Marines pissing on detainees and kicking their teeth in doesn't mean we aren't torturing people at Bagram.
