    ...The Atlantic is basically a coffee table rag that looks good in a pseudo-neoliberal environment

    (Latest front cover: "Is Facebook Making Us Lonely?")

    It has nothing of substance to say and often gives an intellectual veneer to the worst RW tendencies.

    My favorite move by the mag is when they spend 10-15 pages worrying about something and then refuse to condemn it or at least offer a remedy

      and called to cancel it after we read the first issue, lol. Originally (decades ago) I think the magazine was known for printing leading edge fiction, new writers, etc. and it had a respectable reputation.
