    Sissies.

    Real men don't mind seeing women do yard work. In fact, here women do most of the yard work - the men can't be bothered. Why do yard work if you could be fishing? In the old days women did the farming while the men hunted or made liquor.

    Seriously, he would be considered effete here. Funny what a difference culture makes.

    If you've never lived in Appalachia, you don't realize how far this country really has to go.

      friends in the Appalachias (learned to bake a really nice stack cake and to brew an amazing root beer).

          about most any place.  Fried poke and eggs, seven day slaw, corncob jelly, flake biscuits, flitters, chowchow, pickled peaches...the stories.  There's a lot to like about the Appalachias.
