  •  Stop using biocides, if you haven't already. (4+ / 0-)

Second, plant a garden- even if it is just a small patch of plants that will act as "safe" food for pollinators of all stripes.

Third, stop using the word "weed." There are no such things as weeds. There are simply plants that are taking advantage of niches we have left available. "Weeds" are nature's healers.

(there are invasive plants, but we can deal with them without resorting to biocides).

Oh and I forgot to mention: go ecological with your garden. Don't be tempted with our synthetic offerings. Research nature and trust it.

      •  Kudzu is edible. (0+ / 0-)

Kudzu can and should be managed without herbicides.

It can be feed for goats and other animals- including humans. Its biomass can be composted and turned into soil amendments. As a nitrogen fixer, it is building soil wherever it goes.

Will it require a lot of work? Yes. But why not turn kudzu into a resource as we attempt to control it rather than public enemy #1? I'd rather us turn the problem into the solution rather than dump money into the hands of chemical companies, kill off more than just kudzu, and expose our environment to more biocides.
