      President Obama leaves office.

He backed himself into a corner during the Primary battles with Hillary by saying that Afghanistan was the war we should be fighting not Iraq.  This may have been a good campaign slogan to win the Primary against Hillary, but I knew at the time that he would learn to regret it.

Even though many people here at DKos think the Taliban are nearly dead and gone, they are not.  As soon as we pull out, Afghanistan will take a downward spiral and become a disaster.  It is even possible that it could collapse "while" we are pulling out.  It could even be a bigger media disaster than the photos of helicopters leaving Saigon.  I just don't see POTUS pulling out until he can see with his own eyes that everything is doing great.  He doesn't want his legacy to be another war lost by the United States.
