      Fighting back does.

      "Could you define the way that you are using that term for me , please?"

      "You seem to be using a catch phrase to sum up a complex series of problems. I'm not sure that works for me, could you please clarify x, y, z,? Thank you"

      "So what do we mean here today when we say____?"

      "When I say, __, I mean ____.  Can we all agree on that?"

      "When you say ____, I actually hear you saying__.  Maybe you could clarify, because this is not clear."

      Etc.  Force (encourage) people to know what they are talking about.
