Does Ohio allow name changes in recognition of RDP status, or if no RDP status is legally available, for recognition of the kind of relationship that might qualify for RDP status if it existed?

Sorry, I should have been clearer.

RDP is a type of status that some counties and municipalities offer their residents. Here in Dallas, it is the only way to get any legal recognition at all of a same-sex relationship. But, it can be beneficial as many employers (including mine) will accept RDP status as a marriage equivalent for benefits purposes.

There are a few other perks as well. It's a sad substitute for marriage, but it's the best Dallas County can do until the rest of the state pulls itself out of the stone age.

(RDP status is not limited to same-sex couples -- it is an equal opportunity designation and does not discriminate against heterosexuals.)
