I'm in Houston too, and when I go to the strip-center TexMex restaurants - the ones where no one speaks English, I see lots of Anglos. I do notice a lot of mixing.

    •  That is good, but is it just the restaurants? (2+ / 0-)

Hitting up the flea markets, Spanish markets (like MasMart?), festivals, and non-yuppy farmer's markets, usually the number of white folks could be counted on two hands. I moved from Houston a year ago. Lived there and in the surrounding area for almost 30 years. I think it depends upon where you go in the city as well, a 100 miles of sprawl is a lot of ground to cover with hundreds of different sub-communities and cultures. I think hitting up the Vietnamese and Indian markets would help too. Those, again, seem like largely untapped radio and print markets.

shopping areas. Then again, I live in the Galleria area now and go to the East Side to visit family. I like the neighborhood restaurants more than chains.

I do see the need to hit the primary areas where people socialize.
