    We need to stop building with concrete, of which cement is just one component.  Low-energy earth and stone, renewable wood (and rapidly renewable bamboo and hemp), need to be our materials.

    Painting every roof on the planet bright white would buy us 10 years all by itself.

    Reforesting overcast regions (NOT deserts) like the tropical belt and Europe would sequester an enormous amount of carbon.  Supposedly, the natural reforestation of croplands and modified woodlands after the Native Americans were all but wiped out by disease was enough to trigger the Little Ice Age.

    To those who say the New Deal didn't work: WWII was also government spending
