  •  It will be 106 tomorrow in DC (8+ / 0-)

Today, we've broken the record for the longest daily streak of high temperatures exceeding 95 degrees (eight days). By the end of Sunday, we will have shattered that record to a streak of eleven (11) days.

Our central A/C failed in my house, a situation that happened about a day before the heat wave set off. We will not be getting a new one installed until Monday, according to our landlord. By then the heat wave will be "over" (dropping to about 87.) And yet, the irony is that A/C is just worsening the global feedback by taking up more demand for electricity and probably releasing dangerous refrigerants. The curses of modern convenience.
