      and seriousness of global warming.  Have been for years.  But that kind of thing just cuts the legs out from under an argument.  

      I wanna rec the diary because I want to raise awareness, but can't because of that.  Scientific illiteracy at a junior high level is not good for raising awareness.

        ....a real issue.

        From what I've seen, the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere hasn't exceeded around 300ppm during the interglacial periods over the last million years. The 20-30% boost during the modern era is most likely due to anthropogenic sources. The likelihood that these changes will lead to highly divergent non-linear responses by the climate does not bode well for the future of human civilization.
