  •  This is going to be the straw that breaks someones (11+ / 0-)

    back.

Either the people of this country want the government involved in assuring people have some sort of health care coverage, or they don't want the government involved.

If the vast majority of the people see the government's involvement as an important aspect to assuring people have coverage, then they should be persuaded by the republican attempt to prevent said involvement into voting a huge swath of republicans out of Congress.

It's Congress after all where the healthcare rubber meets the road.

    •  About 40% of the US population (5+ / 0-)

receives government-funded health care. Nearly all of them think that's a good thing. Republican efforts to privatize Medicare and cut Medicaid funding are very unpopular with those who benefit from those programs. Of course, some people believe GOP lies saying Obamacare hurts Medicare.

About 16% of the US population is uninsured. They want affordable coverage.

It's the 44% who get health insurance through their employer who may have misgivings about Obamacare. They need to be shown how vulnerable they are: lose your job -> lose your health care coverage -> get sick -> lose your house and savings -> die.
