    or cheaper brands of shavers, I'd end up needing as many tiny pieces of toilet paper on my face as my dad used to have every morning. I'd also end up with very irritatated neck skin. Additionally, I shave my head and I'd find it almost impossible to do a decent job of that with a straight edge blade. There are definite differences between brands and even within brands. Now if you have a light beard and a nearly blemish-free complexion, you might feel differently.
