    They -didn't- build those businesses. At least, not on their own. No one is really self-made. They deserve credit, sure, they deserve to be proud - but they also need to recognize the society that made it possible and give back to it. Not just to give themselves the warm fuzzies, but because it is what they owe.

    "Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way," is not just a feel good phrase.

      Self-made men (almost all men, btw) got that way through zero help. Z-e-r-o. Ask the Forbes list, where no matter how wealthy a family one came from (like Bill Gates), as long as the biz the child runs has nothing to do with how the family got rich, that child is "self-made."
