"Minus two votes for the Democrat" equals "plus one vote for the Republican." Arithmetic doesn't care about your feelings.

altho I'd be interested, but maybe in a diary form so we can all discuss how awesome the CinC is and how he's looking out for the best interests of the country and using the military wisely...otherwise it's just you, me and the lamppost...and who ever is listening in from the NSA...of course they vote too, so there's that.....

        •  peekaboo, i'm back... (0+ / 0-)

I didn't get in last night until obscene-o'clock and I was exhausted from work, so here goes:

Chalabi:  Not much news since that time.  He has probably sunk into the background and lives like a prince in some country that will tolerate him.  IMHO he should be a candidate for a SEAL extraction operation, and then put him on trial at the Hague.  (Resisting the temptation to call for a military tribunal and a firing squad...)

Pak Gov:  At least up to the point where we took out Bin Laden, Pak Gov was infested with Taliban and AQ sympathizers.  Frankly I haven't kept close tabs on Pak Gov since then but if there has not been major and thorough change, then they're still rotten to the core and the world would be better off without them.

Prediction:  It will turn out to be discovered that elements of the Pak Gov are behind at least a large plurality of the "green-on-blue" killings of Americans by Afghan "security" forces.  (There's a new term for "green-on-blue," but I can't think of it at the moment; something like "internal threat".)  Mark my words.  The news about this will come out in 2014.  And no I'm not privy to any inside scoop on this, it's just evident from the public news on the subject.

Though, it looks as if my prediction back then about the Bin Laden takedown leading to regime change in Pak, was just dead wrong.  Nothing like a little wishful thinking to screw up one's analytic skills.

Between you, me, the lamp post, and the intercept operators (who I trust a hell of a lot more than Google's or Facebook's profit-driven algorithms), there are a decent number of votes.

"Minus two votes for the Democrat" equals "plus one vote for the Republican." Arithmetic doesn't care about your feelings.
