Are you talking about active duty service members who are on DK?  If not, then what's against site rules to name them?

Sure there are examples out there, of active duty service members mocking the C-in-C, but they are highlighted because they are relatively rare.  If someone is a commissioned officer and they engage in that stuff, they are directly violating their oath of commission and they should be reported to their chain of command.

But since anyone can pick up anything on this site with a Google search, I won't be naming names.  I'd like to forget they exist.  But they became 'in our faces' examples of a certain type of people who we do not care to associate with.

I'm sure they keep their noses clean for the "chain of command" since they have advanced in the ranks.

Actually I am even more disgusted with myself, for falling into the trap of trusting some of these people for 25+ yrs, who it turned out were back stabbing us as well as defining half the US population as an enemy; one they were superior to.

It has been a rude awakening, believe me.  Hope you never have to go through anything like it.

... I assume, the retired ones who are very visible & at times flamboyant in their contempt for the C-in-C, and the active ones who are associated with them.  Got it; I think I know who you're referring to, and good infosec on your part to fly below the Google radar.

Don't be disgusted with yourself.  You were conned by people who qualify as diagnosable sociopaths, who are high experts at conning people.  There's nothing dishonorable about being the victim of a con, any more than being the victim of a rapist who's in your social circle, any more than being mugged at random on the street.

I've been screwed by sociopaths and narcissists more than once, and I'm well-versed in psych & cog sci so I "should have" been able to spot them.  Thing is, they are by nature very difficult to spot.  A person can spend years knowing and dealing with one of these people and never figure out what they're up to until they get so outrageous that it's impossible to deny what they are.

So yeah I've been through something like it and it sucked bigtime.  But after enough repeat performances, one learns to protect oneself.

We should probably have a group on DK for victims of cons and sociopaths and narcissists.  Much to be learned from each others' experience, and much solidarity to be gained.

Last but not least, sociopaths in uniform do not do dishonor to their branch of the service, only to themselves.  The institutional strength of all branches is such that the misdeeds and machinations of bad actors in any branch ultimately washes out of the institutional culture, and does not stop the regular march forward with the times.
