    Jan Jones introduced HR1162 special state charter schools, backed by the governor Nathan Deal. If a local board rejects a  charter this bill allows the charter to then apply at state level and succeed.
    Allows private industry to take over public education and become funded by the state with no BOE for accountability.
    State will fund at 2.5:1 to make up for lost local taxes.

    I know plenty of good liberals sick of the local BOE's that thought this was a GOOD idea until I got to them.
    Even the Republican state super of schools doesn't like it because it takes money from an already squeezed schools budget. He's getting a LOT of crap from the R's for opposing it.

        fix the BOE's, who are elected, don't sell the kids to the money makers accountable to no one.
