    premise of this diary but I must quibble a bit about this statement:

    Over the first two years of the Obama Administration there were more drone strikes in the Afghanistan/ Pakistan tribal regions than there were in the entire Bush presidency.
    The only reason Obama's armed-drone-strike count has far eclipsed that of the Bush regime in a fraction of the time is that technological advances have facilitated the almost ubiquitous use off drones in general.

    They are much more accurate now (although not yet accurate enough, in my opinion) than they were back in the Bush era.

    The death count in Iraq would have been much worse had Cheney and Rumsfeld had access to today's armed-drone capabilities.
