  •  well, that's a version of 'swiftboating' (4+ / 0-)

discrediting a strength; so if Greg Palast is good, they would quickly find ways to smear him as a nut job.

I don't know GP, so cannot say what I think about him.

It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything. ~~Joseph Stalin

passionate. It's the passionate part that gives people a window to discredit him.

He had to go to Europe to work so that people would listen to him.

Look into him. He's an interesting guy and is often right. If the Democratic party had started listening to him in early 2000, things in this country would be very different today. He really is an expert on the disenfranchisement of POC voters (or not-voters because they weren't allowed to be).

A lot of the people around this voter theft/suppression issue have been swiftboated: Bev Harris who brought the voting machine before members of Congress to show them how easy it is to flip votes, Brad DeLong, whose work is featured in this diary and Greg Palast and several others.

      •  Does anyone know whether Greg Palast is (0+ / 0-)

doing anything in Europe to promote international monitoring of elections HERE.

Europe obviously has a vested interest in these election results.

There are lots of US Expats in Europe--with better jobs, better health care, more free time, vacation pay, etc. AND with closer access to European election monitors....
Seems to me the job of on the ground GOTV is better done on US soil--actually, that's the only way to do it.
But seeking support for the idea of international election monitors, whether that be from OSCE, or wherever, would be better done "over there".
