to the streets and there will be blood. No more. No more stolen elections. Not here.

Ds see human suffering and wonder what they can do to relieve it. Rs see human suffering and wonder how they can profit from it.

Purging predominantly minority voters and requiring them to present IDs to vote in the face of VIRTUALLY NON-EXISTENT VOTER FRAUD is RACISM! I hereby declare all consenting Republicans RACISTS until they stand up and object to these practices!

of just bending over and taking it. No more. And if Dem leadership pulls the "let's just move on" shit people are not going to accept that as they did before. Some will, sure. But many won't.

I really just hope this all turns out to be much ado about nothing.

      •  people were still... (5+ / 0-)

.... living in economically "normal" times in 2000, and in shock from 9/11 and the wars in 2004.

Now they've been fucked, shucked, and chicken-plucked, and they're fed up, and not going to tolerate getting fucked again.

"Minus two votes for the Democrat" equals "plus one vote for the Republican." Arithmetic doesn't care about your feelings.

          in a visceral way.

If the election gets stolen we don't go back to work.  Period.

That's the only way to make this point.

The revolution will not be televised. But it will be blogged, a lot. Probably more so than is necessary.

General strike.  Good tactic.  Peaceful and powerful.

            Resistance is NOT futile!

            Get out the Vote.
Volunteer with your local OFA office.

Get your neighbors and friends to be aware they can't be lazy or "forget" to go vote.  Drag them with you when you go.  Take a vacation day from work if you need to, so you can car pool folks to the polling places.

"Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential." - Barack Obama

Make it a day off.  Close the shop for the day and put a sign in the window (and a message in your voicemail greeting) saying you're closed for Election Day, and you want to encourage your workforce to go out there and make sure every one of their neighbors gets to the voting booth.   And your clientele should too!

If you own a restaurant, you could have a discount on the bill for anyone who comes in with a ballot stub after the polls close.

There are other creative ways that local business can encourage people to vote.

For example: Having someone who can do voter registrations of customers in the store or restaurant is another one: keep the forms on hand, put up a sign, and offer a discount to anyone who's a new registration (as long as their name and address match what's on their ID, to prevent people registering as Mickey Mouse to get the discount).

.... urban riots like nothing we've seen since the 1960s.

People have been pushed too hard, too far, too close to the edge of survival.  Unemployed or underemployed, barely hanging on, and fed up.

Anything that looks like a stolen election this year has the potential to cause a social explosion in our cities.

And that's just one more reason to GOTV like your life depends on it.
