    look, I sort of understand your refusal to accept that you are wrong about the religious affiliation imbued in the AA program. I see that you even showed them, using the very language of the 12 Steps.

    I am happy to tell you, yes, that's right.

    But being right doesn't help sometimes- and when it's obvious you can't agree on something, it doesn't do any good to keep belaboring the point (even when you have facts on your side).

    Does this remind you of anything? Like how it is to talk with a conservative about something they don't want to believe is true, so they don't believe it? Those with religious faith, even when the religion itself is not being impugned, will take a stance and not back down over it. Ever.

    You cannot win these sorts of arguments, I know, I've had them for about 30 years now.

      I got sober at the Atheist-Agnostic AA meeting at the Rendezvous in Seattle (I can't even remember how many years now, 17 or 18) and there was definitely no thumpin' going on at those meetings. All you need to attend is the desire to stop drinking, no God or HP required.
