  •  Sorry, if I were a Repub I would laugh at this. (5+ / 0-)

It's a story from 31 years ago, and he paid a $50 fine in order to ride the boat since his five kids were waiting impatiently.  I'd probably have made the same choice.

I know, yadda yadda some tangential link to sealed records and relevance to 2012, but this is the weakest "oppo" piece I've seen yet this season.

that freaks me out. Personally, I'd never have the balls to launch an unlicensed boat in front of an authority figure who just told me it was illegal. That boggles. But I can understand, with the kids waiting, though I probably would have gone back to the car and said, "The boat can't go in the water today. Let's hike instead!" But then, I'm not rich as Croesus and I generally follow the rules out of principle. I can understand where Mitt didn't on this.

But how do you end up with a disorderly conduct charge? With five little kids in the car? That I don't get. That points to something else.

Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. --Mark Twain
