  •  Brown thought he was at a GOP fundraiser. (19+ / 0-)

That's the only explanation.  He's been neck deep in far right extremism for the past two years.  So, political creature that he is, he naturally reached for the first answer that popped into his head - Scalia.  Ouch.

But to add hot melted butter to that popcorn, his follow-up was even worse.  He heard the boos, smiled awkwardly, and then mentioned Kennedy (trying to shore up that "independent" nonsense).  And then...Sotomayor.

    HAHAHAHAHA!

That's impossible.  Scalia and Sotomayor are about as diametrically opposed as any two justices currently residing.  Unless the question is "who are your two favorite current Supreme Court justices whose last names start with an S?", you can't mention them both in the same paragraph as comparable.

    So  to recap:

    - Wrong answer to the initial question
    - Cascade of negative reaction
    - Lame attempt to grab the middle
    - Pathetic attempt to pander to the opposition

    EPIC FAIL.

Romney-Ryan 2012. Because Hoovervilles are greatly missed.
