    •  Same here. We ALL need to be working GOTV (8+ / 0-)

      and persuasion.

Based upon my suburban neighbors, moderate Republicans are fed up.  They used to gang-up, laugh, and tease me about my politics.

The first one to flip got let go from his job.  Suddenly he became a supporter of ObamaCare as well as unemployment compensation.  The others are listening.

Instead of loaded teasing barbs, they are asking me serious questions because they know I work in politics.

Call 10 people before making your next post on here.

If you don't like the phones, take some pizza or cookies down to the local office for those who do.  You will be amazed how appreciative they will be.

      •  you are dead on.... (8+ / 0-)

there are many "feeling it out" but from my experience the only way to talk to them is factually. When you deal with them respectfully and slowly go for the kill instead of driving the knife in right away, it will pay off as they will start to listen to you and open them selves up to looking at things a little differently. When they are talking to a liberal that they like personally, its harder for them to accept the right wing medias portrayal that we are all the spawn of satan.

Seriously, volunteers need protein and many love the veggies!! This stuff is always the first to get grabbed up. Especially the congressional and senate campaigns, who tend to get less food attention than OFA. The (very poorly) paid staff and the interns, especially, are working almost 24-7 and we need to keep them healthy!

and you are correct that at least on the D side, the staff is often paid more with hugs and food than dollars.

          Everyone can help.

          Thank you.
