    I agree. Even if it's not an issue in this particular case, it is professionally. She got an email calling her fat; TV execs care about that - more than they care about the quality of the "news" they deliver.

    I'm impressed by the groupthink in this diary. Especially in the other replies to this comment. In most other contexts on DKos, taking righteous action to protect one's job from shallow bosses judging women on their appearance would be heroic. In most other diaries, news execs are expected to judge women newsreaders on whether they're fat rather than on their reporting. But in this context, any adult take on the professional factors at work here fuzzies the clear image of this woman as pure and selfless.

    We don't know whether her bosses had any interest in firing her. But it is clear that if they did, it would be much harder now.

    The cynical take on the TV news workplace is generally appropriate. In a hundred other diaries and comments today we will see it applauded on this website.
