  •  that debate was idiotic (13+ / 0-)

"she said she is an indian! but look at her!"

there is something going on here that we liberals have not really grasped - scott brown making warren's ancestry an issue is a direct parallel to the badgering of obama due to his ancestry. "they are not really americans - they are indians and kenyans and all kinds of foreign!"

because i have been wondering, why doesn't warren just cop to it - "yes i am 1/16 cherokee, but i don't have a tribal card. so what is your damned point?"

if she says, yes i am part cherokee, then she is not a real  american according to the right. if she says she is not, she lied. for the life of me that is the only reason i can think of this ridiculous "issue" getting so much push from brown and his enabler, dancin' dave gregory.

    i hate these fucking games.

by the way, i LOVE that e. warren did not shake dancin' dave's hand after the debate. as it wrapped, Dancin DG was saying "don't forget to shake hands! and i'm over here somewhere!" EW shook SB's hand and then walked away while DG was saying "i'm over here somewhere..."

loved it. anyone else catch that? DG can go eat a bag of salty anus rings.

Any man can stand some adversity. If you really want to know a man's character, give him power. Abe Lincoln.

    •  Actually, Warren has been very (16+ / 0-)

clear in her statements about her heritage - she says she is part Indian. When her mother told her about it (when she was a kid) she never asked for paperwork. Her grandparents or her grandparents (sorry, I don't remember properly) had to elope because one of them was part Indian and the other's family didn't approve, so it was kind of a big deal for the family at one point.
What kid would - after hearing such a story - ask for the paperwork?? Even if you are an adult you'd only do that if you're researching your ancestry. I think the value of a person's heritage is very personal, it has nothing to do with accountancy unless you need documentation for practical reasons.
So, Elisabeth Warren has stated clearly that she is part Indian, that this is was she has been told by her mother.
Scott Brown can't prove the opposite and hasn't even tried to (the "look at her" argument is no evidence whatsoever and I suppose he must have been told that).
He has said she has used this "lie" about her heritage to gain advantages. He can't prove that she did anything remotely like that either and hasn't even made any serious effort.
The guy is simply race-baiting and trying to get people to see Warren as someone who has abused affirmative action simultaneously.

      The future is renewable.

You could be correct that no one in the MSM is making it, but it's been raised. This is Birtherism or Birtherism Lite as I referred to in the initial Channel 5 web site comment section. Other people have said the same thing. But you are correct, it's birtherism.
