    But that's more along the lines of hearing someone asking his parents 'and you remember, I want [best friend] to have [valued item], you've got to remember that' and offering to spent a few hours with him and a legal pad to make sure there's a list written down somewhere.

    Only someone like Mitt would think that required a full legal will - because if the parents (the legal heirs unless someone else is specified) are going to respect their kid's wishes, the legal pad list ought to be enough for personal possession distribution to friends and relatives.
