    choosing ideological, political or religious sides is not a good operational model for companies with national customer bases.

    We need to make them understand that when they join ALEC, or take religious sides or support divisive commentators like Rush, there will be a price to pay. They need see that a polarized country is not a good business environment.

    After the election we need to make corporations aware that it is in their best long term interest to promote a civil political climate where there is respect across the right/left divide. This is happening to some extent already and I think many are coming to realize that the deeper the polarization the more they have to choose one side or the other thereby alienating a massive portion of their customer base. This is why we are seeing a trend away from widespread support of Rush and others by respected national corporations.

    In time we can make them see that it is wise to invest in efforts that promote unity and civility rather than the politics of division that is occuring at present.
