  •  One of the Nobel winners... (6+ / 0-)

... is from Little Falls, Minnesota - same town where Charles Lindbergh spent his formative years and went to school (altho Lindbergh was born in MI).

CHEERS to the Nobel Prize winners!

Dr. Brian Kobilka won the Nobel for Chemistry.  Oh, and quite sensibly, the Norwegians gave the Nobel Peace Prize to the European Union.

Little Falls native wins Nobel Prize for Chemistry

Dr. Brian Kobilka’s Nobel Prize put him right up there with Charles A. Lindbergh in Little Falls’ history.
Kobilka is a medical doctor and professor and chair of molecular and cellular physiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine in California. He and his colleague, Robert Lefkowitz, 69, a professor at Duke University in North Carolina, learned Wednesday, they had won the 2012 Nobel Prize for Chemistry for their work on G-protein-coupled receptors.

Congrats to Kobilka and the other Nobel winners..., and to the European Union for winning the Nobel Peace Prize:
The 2012 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the European Union (EU) "for over six decades contributed to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe" by an unanimous decision of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
JEERS to Martha Radditz who called Social Security and Medicare "Entitlements."  She lost me as soon as she said that word... and I ignored the rest of the "debate."  Doesn't she know how those two things are funded?  Doesn't she look at her check stub to see the FICA and Medicare deductions?  Or is she making so much money she's capped out yearly?  [I don't like Radditz anyway because of her excessive positive promotion of war, war, and more war and how "necessary" she seems to think it is that we stay there.  She seems to think the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq is/were good things, not the war crimes based on lies they truly are/were, especially since the US has sanctioned torture in both places.  She is sickening to listen to.]

CHEERS to genie research which keeps me occupied.

CHEERS to all of you and your furry and feathery family and friends.  Have a great weekend!

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen. ~ Crashing Vor
