Ryan really comes across to me like a cold mindless machine-like beaurocrat from some dystopian totalitarian regime without the slightest ounce of humanity or capacity for empathy or passion who will just say and do whatever he's been programmed to. It's almost horrifying to me. For all Bidens faults he glows with the warmth of a man who thinks and feels.

We all understand that freedom isn't free. What Romney and Ryan don't understand is that neither is opportunity. We have to invest in it.

Did you notice how Ryan took on the Detroit issue by saying Romney's a car guy, but then pivots to a story about his compassion for a family who lost loved ones in a car accident.

Detroit > car guy > car accident victims.

As another diary mentioned, this was a calculated move.  He was instructed. "when you feel like Biden's giving you trouble, knock him back with this story because it will remind him about his wife and daughter--he'll turn to jelly."

Disgusting.   But the good news, Biden didn't wither, he talked solemnly about his own compassion to others.

One point to Ryan, though, we didn't hear about GM & Chrysler after that.  And Ryan dodged another possible attack of his own lying in his speech laying the 2008 closing of the Janesville GM plant on Obama--before he was president.
