about direct mail vs. TV ads in terms of the impact on people's opinions?  Here in Ohio, we're getting both, and they have had only a marginal effect, I think-- they're directed at Obama and Sherrod Brown, and both are leading in the polls.

Do you think it's because Florida's senior population is big and that they are talking about Medicare?

the folks registered as NPA. Those are the voters who have to be persuaded.  Both the Democrats and the republicans are snugly entrenched on their own sides.  The election her in Florida will be decided by the NPA voters, turnout and the amount of voter disenfranchisement the republicans can get away with.

I was trying to bring attention to one aspect that the Democrats could work to counter, if they are at all interested.

I condemn Mitt Romney for political opportunism in exercising his free speech rights to criticize America's leaders during a foreign crisis. Wow, I guess I just apologized for Mitt Romney being an ass.

Unless you have TIVO, you're kind of stuck watching them - over and over and over.  And repetition is effective.  Hell, I even begin thinking "Hmmm, wonder whether there's something in that?" from time to time.  What's absolutely best is seeing an ad from the good side pointing out the lies and flaws.  I've seen that happen where the rethugs put out a lie and the very next ad is the dems correcting it.  Or the dem's ad will come on first and then the lying rethug ad.  I always get a kick out of that!

The discussion about Medicare is hyper-wonky and confusing. Heck, I'm confused and I work with numbers for a living. And the problem with their line of attack on Medicare is that its not a lie; ACA does remove $716 billion. Somebody above suggests that Obama should give a Medicare/SS speech targeted towards seniors and Boomers who will be retired soon enough. This talking point has to be forcefully rebutted and soon.

in the debate last night, pointing out that the $716B savings is what they're not paying insurance companies for paying providers through Medicare Advantage.
