So many younger ones forget that it was only a bit over 50 years ago that American schools were integrated and Jim Crow laws died.

The election of a black man has sent a siren call to all those old racists that have been living under rocks all these years, and then of course, there was the GOP to welcome them home.

Still, We're not going back. It's been done.  A black man is the president, the highest honor in the land.  And it will be done again. Those poor, pathetic artifacts of yesterday are  not winning, they're just hanging on by their finger nails.

I wish them all an epiphany, to not die with such bigoted hate in their hearts. Because their time is coming, and it's not to soon to take inventory.

And for those younger bigots, raised and glazed by the homes they came up in, I hope they have that epiphany even sooner---because the relevance of their party ultimately depends on it, and America depends on a strong two party system.  As it is now we have one political party, and a cult of extremists at the wheel.

"A typical vice of American politics is the avoidance of saying anything real on real issues." Theodore Roosevelt.
