    with sport weight cotton, wool suiting fabric, muslin, denim, waleless corduroy and flannel for day wear.  Adding satin, velour, velveteen, taffeta, silk, and lace for evening wear works.

    Now, some of this changes depending on whether you want to do Victorian accuracy or steampunk.

    Steampunk is flexible. There was no steampunk era in our history, so almost anything goes.  H.G. Wells provided time travel, so wearing items of mixed eras, or dressing totally modern or even futuristic works.  Elements of fantasy fit in, too.  The darling young woman above, Joyce, makes fairy wings of gears, for instance.
