...get much sleep last night, but for the life of me, I can't figure out the fuck this is even supposed to mean:

I don’t see it as even a matter of science because I don’t know that you can prove one or the other. That’s one of those things. We can talk about theology and all of those other things but I’m basically concerned about, you’ve got a choice between Claire McCaskill and myself. My job is to make the thing there. If we want to do theoretical stuff, we can do that, but I think I better stay on topic.
Was he having a stroke at the time?

it is a word salad, written by a fool, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Alas, the odds of his being confronted by someone with the knowledge he lacks in a situation where an exchange of data is possible, are minimal.

I am not religious, and did NOT say I enjoyed sects.

    •  it's not about the words, it's about the NONverbal (0+ / 0-)

      .. content.

Listen to the original if you can, and note the emotions that appear to be conveyed when he speaks.

      Those emotions are the message.

It's all about the emotional narrative.

I'm going to guess it goes like this:

      Plaintive >> confident.

For example, "Why are bad things happening?  >> Never mind, we're going to stay the course!"

That's how you should be listening to these Republicans: not the words, but the nonverbal markers of emotion: tone, rhythm, accent, volume, etc.

Ignore the words and write down the list of emotions that appear to be conveyed:  those are the message.

"Minus two votes for the Republican" equals "plus one vote for the Democrat." Arithmetic doesn't care about their feelings either!
