This is one of my faves from 2008...

    •  And the people in the videos were not old! We (6+ / 0-)

like to think of this hateful bigoted stupidity as an old folks. That is a reassuring belief, like it would die out as generations shift.
It doesn't. These were idiots in their 20's and 30's...
      and so it goes

      •  Yep. That's an excellent point. (3+ / 0-)

They aren't the "death-bed demographic" we tend to associate with the Limbaughs and Levins and O'Reillys and their ilk.

Those were... well... here's the essential Wiki info on Strongsville, Ohio:

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 43,858 people, 16,209 households, and 12,383 families residing in the city. [...] The racial makeup of the city was 94.18% White [...]

The median income for a household in the city was $68,660, and the median income for a family was $76,964 (these figures had risen to $79,715 and $90,870 respectively as of a 2007 estimate[5]).

So at least before the crash, that area (just Southwest of Cleveland) seemed to have fared pretty darned well throughout the Dubya years.  Logically, they're already likely to keep the GOP ball rolling with Mack Daddy McCain and Sista Sarah.

And that's what makes their intense, misguided and misinformed hatred of then-Senator Obama both mysterious and crystal clear at the same time.

There's absolutely no reason for them to think those things unless they've been told to think those things.  Clang, clang, clang.

I actually hadn't noticed it! ;)  (Not surprised, though.)

The weird silver-lining about the post-debate bashing of Biden's "rude, obnoxious" style (so similar to the Romney performance that they all loved) is that we now know for certain that the right wing's double-standard has nothing to do with race or gender. We're all "those people" to them.  I find an odd sense of relief in that.  As far as Republicans are concerned, no one on this side of the aisle has the right to breathe the same air they do, let alone (god forbid) use the same tactics.  It's equal opportunity loathing.

Who says the Tea Party can't be consistent? ;-P
