I actually want Republicans to LEARN something from this loss.  If they think that it was simply Sandy that caused them to lose then they might think banning abortion is still ok.  That trying to get rid of birth control is ok.  That being demaning to women and minorities is ok.  That economic policies of cutting taxes for the wealthy and slashing social spending is ok.  That lying your butt off in a campaign and especially at the very end to court independents is ok.  And so on.

But it's not ok.  And they need to learn that if they are ever going to return to be a reasonably sane and responsible force in politics.  America needs that not just to help Democrats govern, but because someday the Republicans will get power again and I'd rather have reasonable people than the insane asylum running things.

And what I want them to learn is:

They need to learn that imposing toxicity on others -- disrupting climate stability, polluting the commons, poisoning the common well --

      is

      neither desirable

      nor moral

      nor God's will

      nor long-term profitable

      nor conserving

      nor honorable

      nor smart

      nor good for their families

      nor in their self-interest

      nor politically savvy.

(Perhaps what will get them onto the road to cognitive recovery is to blame Mittster's loss on Hurricane Sandy....

and then realize that Toxic Emission Mogul David Koch is the Osama bin Laden behind the Hurricane Sandy terrorist attack against NYC and America.)
