I think when people get out of their "boxes" - their homes, their TVs, their Playstations, their iPods, etc - and actually start talking to each other, over the phone, in person - that's when we build community.

Regardless of whom we all vote for, communities like that realize that they can band together and accomplish great things.  They realize that their neighbors aren't the horrible ogres that the media or Fox News likes to scare them about.  They get more involved locally.  They are less likely to be racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, or otherwise frightened of everything but their own shadow.

The majority has tremendous power in this country, if only we would look around and realize We, the People, are the majority - not the 1%, not the corporations - the average citizens.

It is so critical in this electronic world that we actually engage with each other.  I'm so glad this campaign is encouraging that.

I agree. To know we are not "on our own" is empowering. I never want a liberal Democrat to have doubts of their feelings and convictions.

What is this I hear of sorrow and weariness, Anger, discontent and drooping hopes... Life is too strong for you-- It takes life to love Life

I didn't mean to imply that there wasn't tremendous value in online communities like this one - but we can't forget how important in-person community is as well.  Thanks for all your dedication and hard work!
