  •  Biggest Turnout I have ever seen in Manayunk today (22+ / 0-)

Sorry people are having trouble voting.

This morning,  went to the local church where I vote,
and the line was longer than I have Ever Seen !

After waiting for 20 minutes, I had to take off to catch my train to Center City Philly, and will have to go to vote tonight
on the way home...that has never happened in 5 years of voting in Manayunk...

(Manayunk is mostly young people, probably 90% + Obama
    Voting)

    Peace-

I'd love to vote with Stella, and you know she's an O fan.

      Obama, in this case...

      •  I actually know Karen... (2+ / 0-)

she and a very close friend did a one-woman play a few years ago called "Bats!" (he was the author, the horror novelist Robert Dunbar, who wrote The Pines) that both paid homage to and mocked her old "Stella" character. She's quite a character herself and a lot of fun.

She's also a pretty unabashed liberal and I have no doubt that the "Maneater from Manayunk" will be casting her vote for the President today.

My wife and I are almost always among the first people to vote in our ward, but today we were numbers 77 and 78 to show up when were usually in the teens. There was actually a line (which almost never happens) though it still wasn't a long wait (about ten minutes.)

We vote in the same ward that Ed Rendell used to (he doesn't anymore, since he and his wife split up and he doesn't live around the corner from us now.) But even when he did, we seldom saw many people out that early to vote. We did usually get the TV stations showing up to wait for Ed and interview whoever they could in the meantime. Both my wife and I have been on the local news more than once because of this, since the TV folks would pretty much grab anyone who seemed to be able to string two words together for an interview. I guess they hated to waste the time waiting with getting some tape to pad out their election coverage. Alas, they've abandoned us now that we don't have Ed anymore.
