  •  Voted in Montco, PA this morning (16+ / 0-)

Our local DEM volunteers had large signs telling people there was no voter ID required, and they told me if I was asked to show mine, they'd appreciate it if I'd say NO just so as to not encourage the poll workers into thinking people really didn't mind or didn't care.

He noticed that some entries were marked ID required. Part of the printing, not handwritten or anything. I hate that this sounds so CT. He says it's almost like a watermark in big hollow letters.

Could be one of many things (you didn't say the state, so I can't say specifically)..

BUT: In general, if you are a first-time voter and your initial registration did NOT include a photo ID, then you must produce photo-ID the first time.

No CT, but first time voters in many states need to produce photo ID even if photo ID isn't needed for repeat voters.

Minority rights should never be subject to majority vote.

      •  My niece was a first-time voter in PA this morning (0+ / 0-)

and she said there was a notation for her that ID was required. This is nothing new in PA. When my older son voted for the first time in 2008 he did so by absentee ballot because he was away at college. He had to send a photocopy of his driver's license in with his ballot.

I'm planning to refuse to show ID when I go later today. My youngest son, however, will have to since he's a first-time voter.
