"Oh, okay, are you an official poll worker? Who exactly do you repesent?  What is your authority to give instructions to voters at the polls? May I see your ID?  Excuse me a moment while I wrinte that down.  May I ask who told you that you were not "allowed" to tell me that I didn't need a photo ID?  Is it the same person who told you to tell me to have my ID "ready?"  May I have that person's phone number?  Oh, it wasn't a person?  Then you got your instructions in writing?  Where may I get a copy of that document?"

The point is that you are asking these questions while you are standing in line with noting better to do.  The person you are questioning is not able to do their "job" until you are fininshed checking them out.

A right answer to the wrong question is a wrong answer.

An Allegheny County judge on Tuesday issue an order to halt electioneering outside a polling location in Homestead.

County officials received a complaint shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday that Republicans outside a polling location on Maple Street in Homestead were stopping people outside the polls and asking for identification.

The order states: “Individuals outside the polls are prohibited from questioning, obstructing, interrogating or asking about any form of identification and/demanding any form of identification from any prospective voter.”

Now, I do not know if the diarist was voting in Homestead, but it would appear that the PTB are aware of this.
