  •  These hotlines have people stationed (0+ / 0-)

In and around polling places all over the country, most specifically in swing states. There are specially trained lawyers who have very specific information about the state and local laws re: voting in that locality. State parties don't necessarily have the best info (at least not based on the calls we're receiving from democratic party officials who are contacting us).

    •  Don't you think it is better to have those hotline (0+ / 0-)

folks working on issues that are not already being addressed locally? Why send two sets of people after the same problem?

      •  If the problem persists (0+ / 0-)

... after the first report, then the triage process will escalate it. The caller can tell the hotline that it's been resolved, and that will be noted in the escalation system. They won't send people out unnecessarily.

There is an automated system that assigns a severity level. If more reports come in from the same location over time, the level is increased. Other info is taken as well, to determine whether the overall environment at the polling location is making it more difficult for people to vote.

If they're allowing outside groups to get people's personal information, they may be doing other things as well. The legal team can be most effective when more data is provided, not less.

happened here, it's a huge waste of time and resources.

The injunction is confusing; pollworkers can indeed ask for ID, but they can't deny the ballot to someone who doesn't produce it.

          •  And still, if the election protection workers (0+ / 0-)

don't know about it, if it's not in the system, then if other incidents happen at that polling place, they won't know that there's a pattern.

In NH, there are several polling places where laws aren't being officially broken, but the overall issues are combining to create slowdowns and drive people away. It's important that the overall environment be understood.

You may not care, but election protection folks do. I'm going to defer to them on what the procedure should be.
