Smartly, the Obama campaign did not hinge their hopes of winning on FL.
I am sure that it is unintended, but the tone of your comment suggests that it is ok if Republicans steal 29 electoral college votes, as long as Obama still wins.

I have voted in every presidential election since high school.  Never had a problem.

Something happened in Florida in 2010.  My local polling place was a GOP social club party.  I was subjected to overt hostility on the basis of my party registration.  I was challenged twice at precinct.

A year later, I received official notification from my registrar of voters that my voter registration had been cancelled for no reason.  When I went to re-register, the county had no records that I was purged.

When I went to early vote last week in person, I was told I couldn't get a ballot because the digitized signature on my driver's license didn't match the digital signature I gave to the poll worker.  I had to argue and show a signed medical license to get a ballot.

This was in person.  Think about that: you can enter the US with a passport without being challenged over your digitized signature, but not at the polls in Florida.

Obama friendly precincts have been shut down for hours over bomb threats, the state told local officials to illegally purge thousands of voters this summer, thousands of absentee ballots are being discarded for reasons like "non-matching signatures," access has been limited to Democratic areas resulting in huge lines.

And your comment makes it look like you think it's ok that the Republicans steal Florida.

As a Florida voter, harrassed and manipulated by this process, I say fuck that.  This is a coup, a business plot to seize control of our government by destroying fair elections.  I don't know what else to do.

      damn house.

I'm pretty sure no one in Oregon voted to elect Rick Snott governor.

Its a positive feedback loop.  The more successful Republicans are at manipulating the vote, the more power they seize.

Maybe the federal government should clean up our house.  Otherwise, don't ever think a Democrat will ever win Florida's electoral college votes again.

I know, it's asking a lot.  How dare I presume that my government should care about my rights to participate in elections?

reaction to my comments.  I hate that this is all happening in FL.  I want all elections fair and that everyone has the right to vote.  I'm angry for Floridians.  However, my comment was an assessment of the realities on the ground.  Not how I want it to be or even what it should be.  There was no way to get a national election reform done with this congress.  Should we be pounding the sand to make it happen YES.  Is it the reality of where we are NO.  Therefore, you have to find a workaround.
