...as long as there are values voters to incite, and wealthy pockets to pick.

Rove is a political agent provocateur who has mastered the ability to aggregate resources, and influence external forces in order to shift an outcome in his favor. The reality is that even the best players lose the game sometimes.

The Republican Party has been taken over by the corporatists and christian fundamentalists. The corporatists will force you into poverty, and the christian fundamentalists will force you to live under biblical law; daily gruel and scripture for all.

...play that Rove had to pull off this election was the hand he was dealt when Romney won the GOP ticket. Rove had to somehow alter the fundamental beliefs of his largest voting block, The Religious Right. He had to take a Mormon candidate, who many viewed as a cultists, and turn him into their savior; quite a task.
It may not be totally impossible when you are working with individuals who are so easily convinced by their leaders that the universe was created in 6 days, evolution is a falsehood, the earth is only 5000 years old, we are all descendants of Adam and Eve, and Noah repopulated the earth after a world wide flood with the people and animals he saved on his boat. Karl rolled up his sleeves, and went to work.
In the end, even Billy Graham sold his soul to Rove and scrubbed his website of the Mormon cultist references. We'll see if this spiritual conversion holds, or if the website reverts back to its narrowness.
Politics and religion make strange bedfellows, don't they?
