All the wacko election conspiracy theorists here who were attacking people more knowledgable than themselves about Ohio elections for being "in denial" or "ostrichs" for telling them that Romney did not have a preordained victory in Ohio thanks to a magical software patch slipped onto voting machines by a secretive unauthorized operative when no one was looking. My fury at these people is unabating, after six weeks of working to protect the franchise of Ohioans, with two more to go. These people need to grow up and stop being childish. We have lots more work to do. We have only succeeded in protecting opportunity with this election, opportunity that would be gone if Romney had been elected, if the GOP had taken the senate.

There are three legs to the election reform stool — and neither voter fraud nor backend theft (manipulating the vote totals) is among them. They are the money flood, redistricting, and voter suppression. Today, I think the latter is the least important and we need to focus unrelentingly on the first two. I am really interested to see the totals nationally for how many voted for a Republican and how many voted for a Democrat for Congress. I wonder if it will be like the two years — I think 2006 and 2008 — when more Ohioans voted for a Democrat for state senate than a Republican, but the Republicans kept a two-thirds majority. If so, then you get why redistricting is such a crucial issue. Sadly, it went down to defeat in Ohio yesterday, thanks to the third leg — huge secret money. We also lost our best state supreme court justice to the worst candidate to run for the court in a decade — rated unqualified by our state bar association. And a wonderful and widely respected appeals court judge I know also lost to a staggeringly unqualified Republican.

But The Empty Suit is gone! For now. Ojo.
