to get back to the Motor City Kossacks organizing. I'm looking forward to a meet-up.

And yes, I am very, very relieved that we beat PA4. At least for now. The wording of the ballot proposal was not transparent, so that had me worried. I wish that the good ones (2, 3 & 4) had passed, but defeating the really bad ones was essential.

You and marabout40 are welcome. Wish I could do more. I still have some catching up to do with old pledges from last month...still a pinched time. But what is money except something to be circulated and shared?

(This is my 4,000th comment. I feel like a n00b compared to many, but it feels good all the same :) )

I'm seeking to organize DKos members in SE Michigan--roughly, from the Ohio line at Lake Erie NE to Port Huron, W to Flint and back S from there. If you'd like to join our new group, Motor City Kossacks (working title), please Kosmail me.

right? ;) You are welcome, of course. It would be fun to see you again here if you ever head this way.
I have a dual loyalty--degrees from both MSU and UM--but am grateful for both experiences. But tomorrow, I am going to my first UM football game ever, with my older daughter who is now a 3rd year at UM Law. I figured I'd better take my chances this year, otherwise there's no telling if I'd be able to go again. (I am not a fan of collegiate sports, I must admit; I was a student at MSU when Magic Johnson was playing, and I never went to see him. That, I do regret.)
I've never been that much of a team player, honestly, so in some ways it's a big deal that I am now so invested in Democratic party politics. Never too late to try something new!

I may have to make a pilgrimage to Michigan in the next year or so. If I do, I'll be in touch.

UM football was fun when I was a freshman in the cheering block on the 50th yard line. For the first season I went along because I didn't know what better to do. After that, there was everything else, so that one season was it. Don't think I would care to watch again. No big fan of collegiate sports either.

When growing up, my instrument was either the piano or the organ, I guess I never learned to be much of a team player either. My Wall Street experiences underscored that! The boys wouldn't let me play in the big leagues. I was on a major trading floor, but the guys gave me grief at every turn.

Now I have a team that is my customer base at my health food store. I'm sort of a group facilitator for a gang that wants to get healthy. I do the research and carry what I think are the best foods, herbs and supplements for their health.

Then there is here, with this great gang of everybody from everywhere. Love it! The dkos Democratic team is a top team.
