    all broadcast stations (not the network, but the local stations) have to report to the FCC about the programs they are broadcasting that meet certain criteria. They also have to report the number of complaints about that programming they have received. They are required to tell viewers the address to which complaints about their programming should be sent. This probably occurs around 3:30 am for a minute or so.

    This is required for them to keep their over-the-air broadcast license, which is why it doesn't apply to cable/satellite stations.

    The FCC can deny a license renewal if there are enough complaints. It doesn't happen often, but it can happen.

      FCC has no jurisdiction.  They'll shift once they realize this is a center left and heading lefter nation.  It's about the money.

      I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.
