We had a stimulus that was half tax cuts to appeal to the Republicans. So the actual stimulus was half as large as touted. And the total amount was about half of what we needed to get out of the recession.

Balance between ideas that don't work and ideas that do work is silly. If you want to launch weather equipment into the air would you attach both a balloon filled with helium and one made of lead because the Republicans think that is a good idea? We need to do what economists say will work (the economists that actually have been right over the last few years, not the ones that have been wrong, wrong, wrong).

Our job is to fight for what is fair and what will work. Let the politicians compromise, but we should be hammering them every second not to.
